The TAB
The TAB is a 2D paperless animation software tailored to create original animation content for the Web and Broadcast. It is a completely computer-based cartoon animation system that eliminates the need to draw and scan hundreds of paper sketches, radically streamlining the cartoon production process.
The TAB has some superior features exploiting the power of vectors, without the restrictions they usually have, such as constant thickness lines, flat colors and control points complex management. Drawings can be animated by modeling vectors like they were made of gum, or they can be interpolated with the inbetweener. Animations can be checked in the making with a super-flexible onion-skin view. Palette colors are dynamically linked to drawings, and when a color is changed, all the areas linked to that colors will change, with no need to repaint them. And when you modify a drawing because you want to animate it, filled areas will remain filled since they will fit the strokes you’re modifying.
The TAB interface is organized in rooms optimized for a particular task. Each room is a different collection of panes which are laid out at specific positions on the screen, and has its own menus. You can move from room to room simply by clicking on the tabs on the far right of the menu bar.Four rooms are distributed with the software: a drawing room, an animation room, a compositing room and a browser room.More rooms can be added by downloading new layouts from the download area.
